Financial Cooperation (FC)

Financial Cooperation (FC) is one of the most important instruments of German development policy. Its main aim is to help partner countries to fund measures that are important for their development – for instance, investments in the education or health system, in infrastructure, environmental protection or agriculture. If investments of this sort are to lead to lasting improvements, they must be accompanied by reforms. For this reason, Financial Cooperation is always conducted in close coordination with other German or international development cooperation activities. The support provided under Financial Cooperation takes the form of financial payments.
