Cooperation in action Safe drinking water in spite of the war

Following Russia's attacks, a businesswoman's enterprise had to stop its operations. She remembers that moment well: “Our town was right on the frontline. All supply chains broke down. We were no longer getting fuel for our trucks.”

With the support of the BMZ, entrepreneur S. was able to buy new reusable containers for drinking water and now produces around 30,000 litres of drinking water every day.

In order to be able to restart her business and offer drinking water to people in her town and neighbouring areas, she applied for a grant from the EU4Business programme. This enabled her to buy fuel for her trucks and 190 new 20-litre reusable containers, which made it possible for her business to operate again. Now she has reliable contracts with two aid organisations and with private households. Her company, which has 30 staff members, is up and running again and does not require grants any more.
