Global partnership Supporting economic inclusion

With a contribution of around six million euros, Germany is the largest financial donor of the new global Partnership for Economic Inclusion (External link), PEI.

The Partnership aims to support the introduction of national economic inclusion programmes in order to increase the income of highly vulnerable households and those living in extreme poverty.

Economic inclusion programmes hold huge potential for women’s empowerment. They enable women to contribute to the household income, which increases their social status and enhances their ability to live self-determined, independent lives.
