Food security, agricultural innovation and youth employment
By 2030, an additional 440 million jobs will be required for young people in Africa. By 2050, agricultural production will need to rise by 60 per cent if there is to be enough food for an ever growing world population.
The German G20 Presidency is taking on this major development policy challenge and focusing in particular on young people living in rural areas. Specially tailored measures will aim to improve the job situation for these young people and help them to build up dynamic rural areas and ensure that enough food is available.
