Opportunities on offer for private companies

PPP Fund for Fragile States of West Africa

Seamstress in Sierra Leone

The PPP Fund for Fragile States in West Africa was created in order to initiate development partnerships with the private sector in the Mano River Union countries, which are Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea, Liberia und Sierra Leone. The development partnerships are meant to boost economic growth and social recovery in these countries, and to create jobs for the people who live there.

Within the context of the project, GIZ cooperates with well-established companies, preferably those with supra-regional operations, that are financially and operationally strong enough to cope with difficult situations in a sensitive environment. In addition, companies should respect a range of core values in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption measures. They must also maintain close relations with surrounding communities.
