A global partnership within the framework of the G20 and the V20
One key goal of the Climate and Energy Action Plan (External link) adopted at the G20 summit in Hamburg in 2017 is to strengthen the resilience of the poorest and most vulnerable people. This includes the further expansion of financing and insurance solutions for climate risks and disasters.
At the 2017 global climate conference in Bonn, the BMZ joined forces with the UK, Fiji, Ethiopia and the World Bank to launch the InsuResilience Global Partnership for Climate and Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance Solutions, as a joint G20 and V20 initiative. The V20 (Vulnerable Twenty Group) is an alliance of the 48 countries that are most vulnerable to climate change.
