Public private partnerships

Expert training and placement

GIZ (former InWEnt)

In the context of development partnerships with the private sector, the GIZ also operates on the BMZ's behalf as an international enterprise for human resources development, training and dialogue. Its activities range from courses to prepare professionals and managerial staff for assignments abroad, to support for companies seeking to recruit internationally qualified personnel.

CIM

The Centre for International Migration and Development (CIM) can also support interested companies in preparing and implementing development partnerships with the private sector. CIM places personnel on behalf of German development cooperation. In the 'Integrated Experts' programme, CIM places highly qualified experts with employers in developing countries. These are integrated into local structures because they are given a local employment contract and paid a local salary.

The GIZ (former DED) 'South PPP Programme'

The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) has developed the 'South PPP Programme'. This programme is designed primarily for small and medium-sized enterprises in partner countries in the South. GIZ provides companies with professional support in project planning, helps recruit suitable experts and prepares these for their assignments. It supports companies throughout the entire duration of the project.

The GIZ participates in development partnerships with the private sector by providing funds from Germany's federal budget. This enables local commercial enterprises to play their part in reducing poverty.
