The individual players (selection)
International Placement Service (ZAV)
By law the German Federal Employment Agency is obliged to consider the needs of developing countries and international organisations in its placement work. This is the job of the International Placement Service (ZAV), a department of the Federal Employment Agency.
Centrum für internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM)
The Centrum für internationale Migration und Entwicklung (CIM) was founded in 1980 by the ZAV as a joint venture with what was then the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) – the GTZ has since been merged with the DED and InWEnt to form the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The Integrated Experts Programme run by CIM places highly qualified experts from Germany and other EU countries in developing countries, in countries in Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe, and in the successor states of the former Soviet Union.
CIM also runs a programme for returnees, providing advice and a placement service to workers from developing countries, and citizens of these countries who have completed a course of training in Germany, who are living in Germany, and are interested in reintegrating into a career at home.
Office for Executives for International Organisations
The ZAV's experts in the Office for Executives for International Organisations (BFIO) work on behalf of the Federal Foreign Office advising and placing highly qualified German applicants who are interested in working in international organisations.
