The individual players (selection)
VENRO – Association of German Development Non-Governmental Organisations
VENRO is a voluntary umbrella association of about 100 German non-governmental organisations (NGOs), most of which work nationwide. Local initiatives are represented within VENRO through NGO networks on a Länder or federal state level. The latter represent another 2,000 large, medium-sized and small NGOs.
VENRO members are private and church providers of development cooperation services, emergency aid, development-policy education, PR and advocacy.
VENRO works for a forward-looking development policy as laid out in the Agenda 21 and the Millennium Development Goals, and is committed to global structural policy. The association aims to help NGOs step up their efforts to achieve more justice in the world and to ensure that they can do even more to fight poverty, enforce human rights and preserve the natural bases of living.
