The individual players (selection)
Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH) promotes international cooperation in the field of academic and scientific research. It is financed by the Federal Republic of Germany. The foundation enables highly qualified foreign academics to do research work in Germany. The Foundation also provides research scholarships to German citizens to allow them to work abroad.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation offers up to 60 Georg Forster research fellowships in the field of development policy each year. Experienced academics and scientists from partner countries of German development cooperation are thus able to dedicate their efforts, for a period of between six and 24 months, to academic and research projects that are particularly relevant for the development of their home countries. Georg Forster Research Fellowships for Postdoctoral Researchers are available to early-career researchers. The fellowships are awarded for between six and 24 months.
