The individual players (selection)
Deutsche Welle (DW)
The Deutsche Welle (DW) is Germany's public-sector international broadcasting service. Thanks to its DW radio service, which broadcasts in German and some 30 other languages, and its television services which are broadcast in German, English, Arabic and Spanish, as well as its Internet service (DW-online), the Deutsche Welle is a medium for worldwide dialogue with Germany.
On behalf of the BMZ, the Deutsche Welle's Radio and Television Training Centre runs training and consultancy courses for journalists, technicians and management staff from partner broadcasters around the world.
The courses focus, for instance, on radio journalism, radio technology and radio management. The aim is to foster the role of the media in building democracy and encouraging development. To date, more than 20,000 graduates have taken part in DW Akademie's training and advisory projects.
