International Partnership for Microbicides

The International Partnership for Microbicides (IPM) is a non-profit product development partnership (PDP) which was founded in 2002. Its objective is to develop a safe, effective, accessible and affordable microbicide which aims to reduce the risk of HIV transmission to women in order to thus counteract the increasing feminisation of HIV infections. Since it was founded, the IPM has focused on testing microbicides in various stages of development.

Since 2007 the BMZ has supported the IPM in the framework of various projects by contributing 1 million euros per annum.
