Bremen Overseas Research and Development Agency (BORDA)

The Bremen Overseas Research and Development Association (BORDA) was founded as a non-profit association in 1977 by interested citizens of the city of Bremen.

BORDA makes an important contribution to improving the quality of life of disadvantaged groups by enhancing decentralised services and the infrastructure for providing basic services. At the same time BORDA works to protect the environment.

BORDA is part of a German and European network of research and development facilities. In conjunction with universities and specialist associations it supports research measures geared to help achieve the goals of development programmes.

BORDA is currently promoting development projects in South and Southeast Asia and in Southern Africa. Major focuses include water and energy supply in rural areas, sewage and solid waste management, basic sanitation, PR work, training measures and project management.
